Jean Kittson

Jean was a perfect MC for our evening at our annual awards dinner.  She shared personal stories that were relevant to our industry, in a way that showed respect but saw the humour in some challenging aspects of our work. Jean supported our leaders to present our annual awards to nominees and winners, and showed genuine interest and understanding of just how incredible our achievements have been over the year.  Jean interacted with our guests and was soon a part of our team, even joining in and having a dance with our delegates. Jean was accessible for briefing about her role at the Carers NSW 2018 Biennial Conference. Jean facilitated the carers panel exceptionally well which enabled panellists (some new to speaking in front of large audiences and speaking on very personal experiences with caring) comfortable to discuss a range of issues related to their caring responsibilities. Subsequently the carer panel session met its objectives in providing the audience with an insight into what carers perceive as outcomes of carer support in terms of their resilience, health and wellbeing for consideration of innovative carer support strategies that promote carer inclusion and connection.
